Realme C1 comes with powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, big display, and massive battery at the entry-level price point which is quite aggressive. The device is available on Amazon India for sale. But is it a great deal at this price bracket? Let’s find out in the review below

Two years before, it was Xiaomi who was ruling the mid-range business of smartphones with great specs and affordable [pricing. Now, the tables are turned by the Oppo’s subsidiary, Realme. Realme with its first phones Realme 1 changed everything by bringing face recognization under Rs. 10,000 and a powerful processor.

Realme came with its C1 device in 2018 at the cost of Rs. 7,499 to compete in the entry-level devices too. This Realme phone straightaway goes against the Xiaomi Redmi 6A costing Rs. 5,999 and Asus ZenFone Lite L1 costing Rs. 5,999.

Under the hood, Realme C1 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 which is the top-end Soc of Snapdragon 400 series. Powered by 1.8GHz octa-core processor, Realme C1 brings 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage with itself which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. At this price segment, this Snapdragon 450 SoC is damn better than the Snapdragon 430 or MediaTek Helio A22 used in the Xiaomi’s Redmi 6A.

Coming to the gaming section, the device comes with Adreno 509 GPU which can handle games like Candy Crush Saga and Subway Surfers pretty good. Games like PUBG and Asphalt can also be played but on low graphics. overall, this 14nm chip provides a great performance. But, there are loads of complaints in terms of RAM management.

Design and Display

Realme C1 has a plastic body which makes this smartphone very light and easy to carry. The device gets a comfortable grip with its thick sides. The device gets a matte finish on the frame and doesn’t catch any fingerprints. But, the back panel is just like Realme 2 Pro which can pick up the fingerprints easily. Coming to the display, Realme C1 packs a big 15.75 cm (6.2 inches) HD+ Display which is pretty fine in the price tag we get this fine. The display uses Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the device from any smudges. Inside the box, you get a screen guard too. At this price bracket, Realme gives us a notch at the display which any other device might not give. The device lacks in fingerprint sensor though.
Realme C1 comes with Adapter, Case, Cable, Warranty Card, SIM Ejector Tool, Quick Guide, and a Screen Protector.

Camera and Battery Life

Realme C1 packs a horizontal dual camera including a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera with f2.2 aperture. The rear camera also features PDAF, Bokeh mode, and HDR mode. For the crispy selfies, Realme C1 gives us an AI-enabled 5MP camera with f2.2 aperture.

The rear camera gives a decent performance- neither too good nor too bad. In daylight too, the camera couldn’t get the deep detailing. In low light, it takes a hit too. The front camera captures good images in daylight but in low light, it struggles with the noises.
The device packs a massive battery of 4230mAh Li-ion Battery. This can give you a day and half of typical usage. Also, there is no fast charging support in this device but comes with a 10W adapter.

Other features

The Realme C1 runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box paired with Oppo’s own OS, ColourOS 5.1. The connectivity options and sensors include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, dual 4G with VoLTE, a compass, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, USB-OTG support, and FM radio. Realme C1 comes in two color variants: Mirror Black and Blue.

At the price tag of Rs, 7,499, there’s no phone which can match the excellence of Realme C1. though it has its own pros and cons, still it is better among its other competitors like Xiaomi Redmi 6A and Asus ZenFone Lite L1. Realme with this device gives us a great performance, massive battery life, and stylish design but it gives an average performance in camera. Long put short, Realme C1 at this price tag is the perfect buy for the ones who are planning to buy the device in this range
